“Receiving one of the Carlos Salas Scholarships marked a turning point in my professional career. Thanks to the support of SEPLA, COPAC, and Global Training Aviation, I was given the opportunity to take a decisive step toward my goal of becoming an airline pilot.
From the very beginning, I realized that this was much more than just a scholarship to complete an Airbus A320 type rating. It was an opportunity to train with an organization renowned for the quality of its training, the experience of its instructors, and, above all, the human quality of the people who are part of it.
During my time at GTA, I found a demanding, professional environment strongly focused on real operations. The training went far beyond learning procedures or preparing for an exam. Instructors constantly encouraged us to analyze each situation, reflect on our decisions, and truly understand the reasoning behind every action in the cockpit.
One of the aspects that impressed me the most was the closeness of the team. From day one, I felt that everyone involved in the program was genuinely committed to our success and professional development. I always found support, guidance, and a willingness to help, both inside and outside the classroom and the simulator.
The Airbus A320 type rating is a demanding stage for any pilot. It requires dedication, effort, and adaptability. However, thanks to GTA’s training methodology and the continuous support of its instructors, each phase of the course became an opportunity to learn and grow professionally.
The simulator sessions were especially valuable. Beyond mastering the technical aspects of the aircraft, we developed essential skills for airline operations, such as decision-making, threat and error management, communication, and teamwork. This combination of technical knowledge and professional development was one of the most valuable elements of my training.
Although there are many schools where you can complete an A320 type rating, I believe few manage to combine technical excellence with such a strong human factor. GTA not only aims for its students to successfully complete the course, but also to develop the skills needed to become professionals ready to face the real challenges of commercial aviation.
Today, I am fortunate to be flying as a First Officer at Vueling, and I am convinced that the training I received during my Airbus A320 type rating played a key role in achieving this goal. The knowledge, confidence, and mindset I gained during that time continue to support me in my day-to-day work as a pilot.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity that the Carlos Salas Scholarship represented and for all the support I received from GTA throughout my training. Being part of this program is a source of pride and an experience I will always remember as one of the most important milestones in my professional career.”
